Since 2009, the artistic union between Pierre Bertrand and the La Caja Negra collective has been a
shining cornerstone of his professional career. Their collaboration evokes a spellbinding journey,
imbued with travel and otherness, where artists with a priori irreconcilable aesthetic horizons mingle:
jazz and flamenco. Continuing the musical odyssey initiated by Caja Negra, Pierre Bertrand has
embarked on the exploration of sonic treasures through four masterful opuses: Caja Negra in 2009, Joy
in 2017, Far East Suite in 2018, and finally, Hope in 2023.
Celebrating 25 years in the music business, Pierre Bertrand returns this autumn with "Hope", his fifth
solo album, accompanied by a luxurious trio featuring André CECCARELLI, Thomas BRAMERIE,
Alfio ORIGLIO and 37 musicians from the ORCHESTRE PHILHARMONIQUE DE NICE.
Pierre Bertrand pays tribute to the brilliant Alex North and his LOVE THEME FROM
SPARTACUS, written for Stanley Kubrick's film.
In 2017, an artistic collaboration with internationally renowned Swedish trumpeter Anders Bergcrantz
sparked Pierre Bertrand's idea to create this famous "COLORS" project with this immense musician to
explore "the sound of the quintet". This inspiration led to a new project, a COLORS creation that
explains the relationship between music and color.
EUROPEAN JAZZ COMPANIONS emerged in 2021 through the collaboration of SYL
Productions, a French organization, and the Classical Beat Festival in Germany. This innovative
initiative brings together seasoned musicians to mentor and impart their expertise to young
professionals graduating from music schools and universities across Europe. The program provides
aspiring talents with their inaugural opportunity to perform in a professional big band setting,
fostering growth in a professional environment.

Pierre Bertrand has always maintained a close relationship with the classical and contemporary worlds,
with the Nice Philharmonic Orchestra, the Cuban Symphony with Roberto Fonseca, and the Rouen
Opera Orchestra to conduct Tigran Hamasya's symphonic project.
Pierre BERTRAND presents in his album HARMONIA two major works : his first saxophone
concerto in 5 movements and his first orchestral suite "Bailes" for symphony orchestra in 4 movements.
